Calcium Stearate made via fusion process is produced by heating stearic acid and calcium oxide. It is an insoluble salt of calcium, stearic acid and palmatic acid. It is insoluble in water, ether, acetone and cold alcohol. Calcium stearate is used as a drying lubricant and dusting agent for rubber.
